A Message From Our Founder

“A girl who knows her worth will change everything around her, her family, her community, her nation.”

I am a Nigerian-American registered nurse, founder, and women’s advocate.

I started GLY Empowerment because of my own menstrual health journey. For years, I didn’t know what was normal, what was abnormal, or that I had options. That silence became isolation.

I realized: if I didn’t know, millions of girls do not either. They are sitting in classrooms confused and ashamed, thinking something is wrong with them.

So I decided to teach girls what I wish someone had taught me: what’s normal. What’s abnormal. That your body is worth understanding. That your questions matter. That you deserve to be heard.

The work begins with girls and it never stops.

Stepping Into Bloom

We go directly into schools across Nigeria on a scheduled basis throughout the year. Spending a day with girls covering menstrual health, personal safety, STEM exploration, and leadership. We show up in person. Every quarter. No exceptions.
