GLY Empowerment was founded by Roseline Adesanya, MSN, RN a Nigerian-American nurse and women’s advocate because of a simple truth: millions of Nigerian girls don’t know what’s normal.
They sit in classrooms confused and ashamed. They think something is wrong with them. They miss school. They stay silent. And no one tells them it doesn’t have to be this way.

The Gap We Are Closing
In communities across Nigeria, girls are growing up without access to the health education, mentorship, and safe spaces they need to discover who they truly are and what they are capable of becoming.
They do not know what is happening to their bodies during puberty. They have no one to talk to about personal boundaries. They have never been told that science belongs to them too.
This is why GLYE exist, to let girls know who they are before the world teaches them differently.

We envision a Nigeria where every girl grows up with access to health education, personal safety knowledge, and the confidence to pursue science, leadership, and her own definition of success. We are building toward that Nigeria one school visit at a time.
Why We Do It & Our Approach
When a girl knows her worth, everything changes: her grades improve, her health improves, her confidence soars, and her family and community feel the ripple effect.
We don’t believe in one-off workshops. We show up. In person. Every quarter. No exceptions. We build relationships with schools, train ambassadors, and create lasting change.
