Our Story, Our Mission, Our Girls
GLY Empowerment was built on a simple belief – that every girl in Nigeria deserves access to the knowledge, mentorship, and safe space she needs to become who she was created to be.
Where It All Began
Guiding Light for Youth Empowerment was founded by Roseline Adesanya, a Nigerian-American registered nurse and executive healthcare leader, out of a deep and personal conviction.
Growing up, Roseline saw firsthand the gaps that existed for girls in Nigerian communities. Gaps in health education, gaps in mentorship, gaps in spaces where girls could simply ask questions, be honest, and be met with care and knowledge instead of silence or shame.
When she became a nurse and later a healthcare leader, those gaps never left her mind. And when she finally had the platform, the credentials, and the community to do something about it – she did.
GLY Empowerment was born to be the resource, the safe space, and the guiding light that so many girls never had.
Mission - What We Are Here to Do
Our mission is to empower girls in Nigeria with the health knowledge, personal boundaries education, STEM exposure, and life skills they need to grow into confident, informed, and self-leading young women.
We do this through our signature Bloom Into You program – offered in person and online year-round so no girl is left out regardless of her location.
We believe that a girl who knows her body, knows her worth, and knows her options will change everything around her.
Meet Our Founder
Roseline Adesanya, MSN, RN | Host, Women in Bloom | Self-Leadership Strategist | Founder, GLY Empowerment
Roseline Adesanya, MSN, RN is a Nigerian-American registered nurse, founder, and women’s advocate whose work is rooted in one core belief: that women and girls are most powerful when they know who they are before the world tells them otherwise.
With over a decade of experience in clinical nursing and healthcare, Roseline brings both the science and the soul to everything she builds. She understands human behavior, resilience, and growth at a clinical and deeply personal level.
As the founder of GLY Empowerment, Roseline travels to Nigeria to deliver Blooming Into You — a quarterly school program bringing health education, leadership development, and STEM programming directly to primary and secondary school girls across Nigeria. She shows up in person, in schools, in communities, because showing up is the whole point.
She is also the host of Women in Bloom, a free empowerment event series creating space for women to gather, be honest, and grow together. Everything she builds is connected by one thread guiding light for those who are ready to bloom.
Roseline believes the work begins with girls. And it never stops.

Legacy: Everything we do today is a seed planted for the Nigeria and the world we want to see tomorrow.
