Volunteer Preparation
In February 2026, GLY Empowerment traveled to Mongoro and Olowora Lagos, Nigeria to host our Stepping into Bloom Wellness and Empowerment Workshop for girls aged 9-18.
Our team worked with 106 girls covering topics including: menstrual health, puberty education, hygiene, personal boundaries, STEM exploration, life skills, goal setting, self-confidence, and group leadership activities.
Every girl who attended left with: sanitary pads, facts sheet, new friendships, practical knowledge about her body, and the confidence to ask questions she had never been able to ask before.
This program was made possible by the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteer team.
This is what your support makes possible.
Puberty Lesson
We educated girls at both school that puberty is a normal part of growing up and they should never feel ashamed.
Menstrual Cycle Lesson
We educated the girls about menstruation such as, calculating days, normal and abnormal symptoms and how to use a pad.
Lesson on Boundaries

Your Voice is Your Power
Girls were empowered and taught, their voice is their Power! They should never be ashamed to speak up.
STEM in Practice
For the first time, we introduced girls to a STEM program. Where they learned what STEM is and how they can apply this in practical ways in their lives.
